Abstract
After a dedicated trackmania-career and a whole bunch of amazing and original tracks, I really thought it was time to build my first tribute track in united, for one amazing guy, racer and builder, who recently stopped playing: AAssie!! I was always surprised how he could use some simple block combinations in such ways that the track became utterly interesting to drive, I really tip my hat for that!!
For this track, I did not 'just' build another jumperjack-track, but neither I tried to copy his style. Instead, I tried to build a track with his way of working, but with my style: so a jumperjack-track which is totally focused on using the very normal (plain straights) and the very extreme blocks (uhh, red turbo?! ^^' ) in original ways. The track is kind of special... the KTLC-crew was really divided in the end: some loved it, some hated it. I'm actually really curious if you, AAssie, would like it. ^^'
Ah well, AAssie and all others: Have fun, and gg Arkone who won the KTLC on this track!! ^^
By the way, the trackname is a wink to AAssie's island track: Øde Øy (Lost Island). This track is almost similarily named (Øde Øl), but now it means "Lost Beer" (I hope, since my Norsk isn't that good ^^' ).

thanks MGI heh, i got an award for this one. whew, thanks a lot mr cereal killer!! ^^
thanks AAssie thank you so much. i'm glad you liked it enough for an award. i know that it's a... 'special' track. ^^' after this map has been played in the KTLC, i also found out that the red boost was not placed very well after all. but well, it's my first red boost ever anyway. ^^ i'll try to make a map for GC or so with a better red boost in it. ^^ thanks again for the time you took to test it during your big break, i really appreciate it. ^^ and - probably due to that same endless testing for ET - you're still someone who knows exactly how to build great league tracks!! ^^' cheers!!

Wow!
What a great honor! And even more so when it comes from a very good player who's been in the game a long time
Sorry I didn't notice this before. I don't check out tmx that often these days. I'll test the track asap (it will be the first I play in about 9 months... ).
Your norsk isn't that bad. 'Øde' means 'desolate' or 'remote', and I guess stumbling over a desolate beer after a long night of driving my tracks is well deserved

Awesome screen btw

Edit: First impressions playing with kb: The track has a nice vibe to it; challenging but not scary (good 'flow').
I'm a bit unsure about how well the red boost works, and it's impossible to decide until I get my wheel up. I miss a sign or two at the start as it's a bit confusing to know where to go (not that hard to figure out on this track, but after testing 1000+ tracks at ET I really despise dead ends...). We'll see if it's worthy of an award when I get to test it properly with wheel, but so far I think it's heading that way (you know I don't give out awards easily ).

i'm glad that my norsk (or at least half of it was google's norsk) wasn't too bad. ^^' a shame maybe, since a part of my family actually lives in norway for many years already...

cheers!!

Amazing track
Challenging all the way!

You probably need to be a pretty fast driver to like this track. It's a lot of fun when you get it right, but it's very fast and very easy to skid out so it can be quite annoying
Thanks for showing me how a red boost can be constructive! I'm not that fond of it's placement directly after a hairpin though, because it's a bit hard to get the right direction when entering the boost. I don't like the high speed brake n' slide hairpin in this map at all to be honest. It's too random.

Brave to put a red booster like that in a tech map.

Creative and cool map.
