Hey maniacs !
I'm so bored about these poors replays we can see sometimes in our 10 replays allowed.
A simple rule, for playpal only, can be "bronze, silver or gold medal minimum to post a replay.

cheers

some are just too lazy to post a better one...like me.

You shouldnt be losing too much karma if the replay is bad anyways.
but the rule is okay, as the bronze medal is easy to get.

silver minimum can be good ;
only during the playpal period. ^^

what if someone makes e.g. an AT of 45.50, sets medal times to 45.51 - 45.52 - 45.53 ?

I know of several tracks that do this, so maybe it's not the best idea.

It's just for 10 replays !
What did mods thinking about it ?

In my opinion, the people should have the silver medal at least.

Well people may just set the Silver as .02 under the AT and their tracks will stay up forever.

And bad replays don't count for much+they get bumped off.

You right Redrot, no problem.
It's just, you put a replay ; it was meaning for me
make the highest record you can. no?
But doesn't matter ...

There is definately a huge problem on playpal with players posting HORRIBLE times for every single track, in turn getting a lot of great tracks that need exposure disqualified.

I think there should be a restriction based on a percentage deviation from the author time. Say, if you're more than 20% slower than the author time, your replay won't get posted. This meens you'll actually have to make an effort to earn some PP points.

The only downside is that some players will have a difficult time getting a replay on some levels. That point is fairly moot though; the number of tracks on PP is high enough that you can easily go play another map if the one you're playing now is too difficult.

Anyways, just my two cent.

yeah, if the rule was based on the AT, that would be fair.

But then, what if people just started posting incredibly hard tracks? then what?
I propose that we have a certain time that must be reached based on the AT of the track, and if the track is too hard, people can vote it off.

or we just remove the 10 replays rule.

nah, then some tracks will be in pp forever

allowing players to upload every choppy replay, but only voting a track off if 10 replays are within 120% of AT ? is that what you mean?

no, its just that all replays uploaded couldnt be more than a certain percent of the AT, in this case 120%

seems fair to me, if a person cant reach that, they shouldnt be on TMX for driving.

I'm not really the best driver. On some tracks I can't even get a bronze medal on them.

However, there should be a bad time mechanic. I guess perhaps a percentage is a fine go, but what if it's like a LOL track? What if it's 5 seconds long? 20% would mean that track must be completed in 6 seconds. The percentage works best if it's under types. Perhaps if a track is put into PlayPal, players must assign it a category. For example: RPG, full-speed, tech, LOL, etc.

Each category would have a different percentage of time allowed. This would even out the tracks pretty well. Also, difficulty could factor in at the percentage as well, so easier tracks have a smaller percentage.

I'm glad to see that i'm not the lonely one on this point.
We start to have nice and practical ideas.
But we still don't know what mods are thinking about this

If the track is more than 20 seconds, the 120% rule applies?

I have no problem with bad replays, but I suppose some players are not motivated for making good times. I think a new rule would be useless.

In my opinion, the noobs should stop to play this game. (I joke of course^^)

We could just make it much simpler and much fairer, in short:
All replays are allowed and all replays leech karma, however, only replays that are within 20% (or faster than) the author time contribute to the number of disqualifying replays.
