Replay Competition Supported by and featured on the TMU Blog
The idea I am a replay junkie. The replay (or outro) of a track is one of the points I put a special eye on whenever I race other people's tracks or do the MediaTracker work of my own tracks. With this competition and your help, I basically want to collect new ideas and see what more is possible. For this occasion, I created a special replay which you are to edit.
The replay It is a 50-second replay of one of my Sunrise tracks called "Ventura Highway". It may neither be beautiful nor spectacular, but it unites as many Island themes and elements as possible. Highways, platforms, airports, streets, tunnels, wallrides, jumps, bigger jumps, bends, straights. Additionally, there are 4 racing cars in Nadeo skins which mostly stick together, but collide only very few times.
The Replay!
The procedure o Download the replay. o Edit the replay. o Not allowed MT track types or measures: - "Text" - "Image" - "Sound" - "Music Volume" - Deleting ghosts or changing car skins - Changing the "Time" bar. (Anyone who uses these track types will be disqualified.) o Save the replay in this form: Replay Competition - YourName.gbx (Only gbx files will be accepted.) o Send your edited replay in an e-Mail. Don't forget to include your login name in case you win a prize. =)
The deadline 23:59 GMT, January the 21st, 2007. May still be re-scheduled if there are too few participants.
The judges Me, myself and I. As simple as that. It's my competition (and my money you are going to get, remember that you don't pay entrance fees for this ) in the end, so the ones who send in the best replays in my eyes get prizes. Be sure that I care about ideas and quality, not about names. I'll watch the submitted replays in 1024x768, PC3 (low) Shader, high texture quality, with Lightmaps, Water geometry and post-processed FX's.
The prizes
First place: A free track advertisement on the TMU Blog (worth 150 coppers) + 1500 coppers
Second place: A special replay + 700 coppers
Third place: A special replay + 300 coppers
Fourth place: 150 Coppers
Fifth place: 100 Coppers
Of course, the winning replays will be published at the end of the competition in this thread.
Have fun. I'm awaiting your chefs-d'oeuvres. |

Hehe, I'd participate I don't care much about coppers but I love making outros Hmm but I'm don't know if many people are interested in this competition... We'll see, having just 2 participants would be boring |

I would be in, cuz 1,500 coppers is a freakin' lot of ca$h, but I would suck. Do you have to just email them? or could you post them on the track page itself?

I love making "Gran Turismo Style" (mostly realistic, like something you'd find on ESPN) outros, so I'm going to be all over this competition. And away I go.....
(Hopefully I can find the time to do this though) |

A little UPDATE: All valid submitted replays will be published at the end of this competition, not only the winners' replays! I'm sure there will be lots of highly competitive and great replays, so it would be a shame not to give the opportunity of looking at them.

i want to be in,but i have a question: can we change the time timeline? I mean some scenes need a bullet time,or even need a lot of time before and after (wich is used for an another scene)
nice contest between!

Thank you for your appreciation and your question, Weetos.
First I, too, didn't know what you were talking about, but now I think I know, after some experiments with the time timeline. You, as an experienced video creator, know all tricks of course, like creating slow motion etc. But I'm sorry, I have to say no.
Remember, this is a replay, not a video contest. I.e. it aims at rewarding those submissions which have the most original ideas, are most diverse, prove of a love to detail and serve as a model for how a track replay (or Outro) should look like. And slow motions cannot be used in track replays.
Thus: please do not change the time bar.
I updated the main post, in case hydrofise is participating. |
