Ever wanted to get to know your fellow TM players a bit better? Wondered what they look like in real life? Or just been generally curious about them? Well, here’s your chance to meet other community members on a whole new level! The TM Journal Project is an initiative to bring the community members one step closer to one another.

The Idea

The idea is quite simple:

1. People sign up and are added to a queue.
2. The current holder writes a few pages in the journal.
3. TMX asks the person next in line for his address (through PM) and passes it on the current holder of the journal.
4. The current holder sends the journal through regular mail to the next person.

And that's it! Originally, there were two journals but one got lost in the process. However, this project also exists on TMX Nations, where another journal is travelling around!

I’ve received the journal! What to do?

Upon receiving a journal, you are to:

1. Post in this thread that you’ve successfully received the journal,
2. Write in the journal,
3. Pass the journal on to the next person in line.

Please note that you’ll receive a PM (private message) on this site prior to receiving a journal. Your address will be asked for and passed on to the person who needs to send the journal to you, but you will NOT have to post the address in this thread.

The journal can be seen as a physical blog, a diary, a latter, whetever you want. You can tell your life story in it, tell us about yourself, talk about TM, add pictures of yourself or the country in which you live, add something about your culture, draw, color, etc. Be creative

Signing Up

Before signing up to this project, keep the following in mind:

o You are required to send the journal to the person next in line. This is likely to mean you have to ship abroad. Within the EU, this is fairly cheap, but sending to other countries may cost more. You are responsible for all shipping costs. If you have certain preferences (for example, only want to ship within your own country, or don’t want to ship overseas), state them upon signing up. You will be placed in line accordingly.
o If you sign up, you will receive the journal eventually. This may take time, however, as the means of transport is regular mail, and as there are likely to be others in front of you in line.
o You may NOT keep the journal for more than two weeks – preferably shorter than that! If you doubt you’ll find the time to write in the journal, please don’t sign up at all!
o Handle the journal carefully, don’t add any unsuitable material, and respect what others have added.
o You may sign up to both the Nations and United journal if you like.

To sign up, simply make a post in this thread stating which country you live in. If desired, include shipping preferences (don’t want to send overseas, only within the EU, only within own country, etc.).

Show us your work!

If you like, it is highly encouraged that you scan or take a picture of the pages you fill. Then you can upload them and link to them in this thread. This makes things more fun for everyone! However, this is not a requirement.

Only thing left to say is have fun with the journals. Now start signing up!

In Line:

Please note that the order may be changed at any time due to shipping preferences of each individual.

MrA, don't scare the poor child away

Although if you're not sure about it, you probably shouldn't sign up, MikoZ. (We wouldn't want it to get stuck because of such an issue ). But if you talk to your parents first, they'd probably help you, right?

I'd do it except that, well, my parents would have to pay for shipping. I'll ring it up with them and if it's fine, I'll post here.

OK, so MikoZ, NitroGuY and Speeder, I'll expect you to ask your parents as soon as possible. I'm sure it will be fine, at least if you are to ony ship a shorter distance.

Killer, you're now first on the list as you're the first to actually sign up, but I doubt you'll stay there. I mean, the next one in line would have to live closer to you. Perhaps you know some TM player near by who you can ask to sign up?

I'm off on holiday today (probably some computer access on the way though). When I get back on Sunday I expect more people to have signed up

That's a good idea I guess I could scan the pages or something If the book ever returns...

Jozii interesting idea. But why do you start this in real life? Ok its more personally, but giving his adress to people from the inet and taking costs for sending the "book" across the world...hm. You could start this virtuell. So start a word document and everyone has the change to import photos, scan his drawings and give his page a personal touch with the use of a other format-settings or other typings. I think there is not such a big difference to the real-life "book". Moreover the danger of getting stuck is less than rl, and if you want to present your work it is easier to upload it on a hp and easier to read (my handwrite for example is not very readable).

i think is better doing in real life bc its shows more personalities and its cool to send round world imo
