Well ATP Speeder contacted my about MTC for January and we had a few ideas and came up with this theme. For a change TMX will run the MTC, but we might well look for another guest host in March!
We have deliberately picked a theme which you have to build for rather than just enter whatever your newest track might have been!
Theme for January MTC
o Track must be drivable in 2 directions
o You may have a short section at the start and at the end that can be taken only take 1 way.
o The track should be not shorter than 30 seconds (no max)
o All environments are allowed
o 2 entries per person allowed (but 2nd entry must be a different environement).
Tip:Place check points back to back to allow the car to reset facing the correct way!

Judging
Judges will be recruited to review all tracks. (Apply in the thread or by PM).
Originally I thought a final 3 per envir so the judges wouldnt be over run (that would be 21 tracks to beplayed by all).... But as we have about 21 tracks, I think all judges should play all tracks and we'll announce Envir winners and then a final top 10
Judges cant enter because making a rule that would allow it to work is too complicated.
Judges will look for....
A mix of speed and tech to make the most amazing races.
For both ways around the track to be very close as to which is quickest.
A test of driving skill and of course a display of building skill.
Judges Score Card (Total out of 50 Points)
How well does the two way direction element work? 9 points
How close are the routes to each other time wise? 5 points
Is is a good race? 9 points
Display of creativity & originality in building 9 points
Speed vs Tech Mix 9 points
Presentation (scenary & Media Tracker) 9 points

Track must be uploaded January 1st or later. Uploading period ends January 31st.
Prizes
Coppers donations welcome in order to make some coppers prizes.
Fund So Far: 13000+ Coppers (MrA, Crooms, BCS fastforza, Giler, Harmony~Brrothers, s8ndm8n)
SO Im thinking 1000 for the highest rated in each Envir followed by prizes for the top 3 overall.

Anything is OK, but dont confuse multiple routes with 2 directions. The purpose of 2 directions is to drive over the same route but going the opposite way round.
As long as you do that then everything else is fine  |

There is deliberately no rule one way or the other about use of symetry, so I'd say it comes down to the builder on how (or if) they want to use that.
But think carefully, a symetical track doesnt necessarily involve driving a route backwards. So in other words the key is not symetry, but you can use it. |

As I understand it you are supposed to have a respawn (facing back) at the far end of the track!
Making a "doughnut turn" = not going back the same way... ....right? |

I take it a small kinda roundabout turn at the turning point is ok (is really not the same as the end of the track )
The respawn way is pretty cool tho as it's much easier to compare which way is faster |

Curses... I've dome something like this before... but in two seperate tracks. (GP-styled track with a forwards and backwards version.)
Ah well. Should be fun to work on. |

That sounds about right to me. Some of the categories seem like they may be a little too subjective, but... no real way around it.
Will be interesting to see how the outros go. |

| That sounds great to me. Nice criterias! (I would have given scenery 4 or 5 points and media tracker 2 or 3 points to make scenery more count. )But I think the critera is totally right and there will be cool tracks (hopefully)... Maybe I've the time to build one for this contest... |

I'm kinda sad that mediatracking always is rated so low 
For me it often takes just as much time (often more) doing the mediatracker as the actual build |
