DEADLINE: January 3rd, 2008
In what area regarding the creation of tracks would you like to see the community develop during 2008? I believe most agree that full-speed tracks dominate TMX, and many might want to keep it that way, but if you could choose one style that you think should get more attention, what would it be? Would you like to see more tech tracks, regardless of environment? Or perhaps more tracks in the Sunrise environments, no specific style required? Or how about more innovative tracks featuring unique block combinations, but only in a few specific environments?
This little event is designed to function as a vote to find out what the majority of people would like to see more of during 2008. However, in order to vote you’ll have to make a track representing what you have in mind.
Here’s how you do this:
1. Decide on what style(s) you’d like to vote for (for example technical, off-road, innovative, short tracks, long tracks, stunt tracks, PF tracks, league-style, certain environments, and so on – the list can go on).
2. Make a track that you consider represents the style(s) you vote for.
3. Upload the track to TMX and link to it in this thread.
4. Along with the link, post the style(s) you’re voting for.
Special notes:
o Max one track (vote) per participant. However: o A track may represent several styles (for example technical stunt tracks) o When stating what you vote for, be specific and don’t write long sentences. Separate each style by a comma. If someone else has already voted for the style you intend to vote for, make the same statement has s/he did. That way “off-road” and “grass” won’t be confused as two separate styles if you mean the same.
To make votes easier to count and to avoid confusion, here are two examples of what your vote could look like:
| Quote ... |
Track: ’link to your track’ My vote(s): Technical, Rally (environment)
OR
Track: ’link to your track’ My vote(s): Innovative transitions, Stunt mode, no specific environments |
NOTE: The word “style” may refer to many things, but this poll is quite open. You can vote for anything, from simply a specific environment (or group of environments) to the mode (Stunt, Race, etc.) and actual styles of tracks (technical, full-speed, etc.). You can vote on several things or just one, but please be specific.
So: Build a track, make your vote, and we’ll see in early 2008 what you guys, the TMX community, hopes to see more of during the coming year. Additionally, some of the best tracks may get awarded
Good luck and have fun building

Suggestions:
Not sure what to vote for? Here's a list of examples:
Environment specific (one environment or a group of environments - or no specific environment at all), technical, full-speed, innovative transitions, more stunts, less stunts, stunt mode (not to be confused with "stunts"), PF, off-road, MT heavy, no MT, short tracks (30 sec or less), long tracks (1 min 30 sec or more), etc.
Feel free to add to the list by making a post about it

I have an idea but i have no time to build a track for this. (I have some tracks in build but they need a lot of time to be finished.)
I would like to see more innovative tracks, for example some with an unnormal cam or cool transitions |

No, it doesn't Perhaps the idea was just stupid xD I'll just let it pass, as I don't have the energy to really try to make it a success |

in any competition: MT, scenery, and screenshot should not be rewarded in any way. speed & flow should not be rewarded in any way unless you have specifically asked for it.
If you don't do this, then there is no need to judge a contest, just list the BOTM.
Don't use misleading competition names.
Thats a lot of don'ts. As far as do's, applying a style is good to get builders thinking and creative. The TMO, TMS and TMN groups worked well imo
As far as ideas:
Compact 10x10 or something like. Delivery. on TMX-N puzzle comp a lot of people had fun by just building a good track rather than just for the shortest time. Maybe a few cp blocks and finish this track off would be cool. A Platform comp. .... i'm out, sure you have better
